~ Give Blood. Feel Divine ~ + About Us Welcome to www.DivineBlood.com, a site dedicated to increase awareness about the importance of blood
donation. Divineblood.com was officially launched on 28th August 2004 by Mr Inderjit
Singh, MP for Ang Mo Kio GRC. The Sri Sathya Sai
Central Organisation ( Since the first
blood donation drive, the organisation has achieved much success in holding
the event. The figures have changed dramatically, from collecting close to a
100 units of blood every year, we
now collect about 650 units of blood annually holding blood donation drives every three months. The Sathya
Sai Organisation is the top organiser for
blood drives in the Religious/Schools/Grassroots Blood Mobiles Category (Red
Cross) and has been recognized for its
efforts by the Singapore Red Cross for its invaluable contribution to
society. However, this is still not enough. As our supply increased, so did the
demand and hospitals today still face a shortage of blood as they not only
require large amounts of blood for transplants, emergency operations, etc.
but also need to maintain a regular supply of blood. Hopefully this website will give you an insight about donating blood
and inspire you to do your part for society, to become blood donors because BLOOD DONORS are LIFE SAVERS. Make sure you sign up to our mailing list to receive news and updates on forthcoming blood drives. SATHYA
SAI BLOOD DRIVES Bhajans are organised for every blood donation drive to allow the
blood donors, supporters and blood recipients to derive
maximum benefit from a spiritually charged environment, to purify the location throughout the day and to make the
blood donation experience an enjoyable one for all. Each year, a Mega Blood
Drive is organised that apart from bhajans, includes a cultural programme.
The last Mega Blood Drive was on 3rd September 2006 which was
attended by over a 800 people, and saw the involvement of a professional
Indian classical music troupe and participants from the various Sai centres
in Singapore for the cultural programme.
Blood
drives organised by the Sathya Sai Organisation are like a fun day out with
the family for a noble cause. Lunch/prasadam is served, donors and supporters
stay around even after they have donated blood to sing bhajans, volunteer in
preparing and serving food, keep the place clean, maintain order and support
the Singapore Red Cross during registration and pre-registration. Apart from the spirit of
selfless service, one also becomes more aware of the
constant need for blood in Singapore, as there is plenty of opportunity in
the course of the whole day to speak to the nurses and administrators
present. Other activities
